Ohio Pine Straw Sales

Let’s plan beautiful landscaping together!

Premium Pine Straw Rolls

Long needle pine straw rolls are here now with greater resin content allowing the pine straw to retain it’s color longer! We are now exclusively stocking rolls of pine straw instead of bales. You ask why?

Rolls are more economical because they have more pine straw in a roll, are faster and easier to spread than a bale. The rolls are extremely clean of debris, fewer branches, pine cones, and dirt. This means you receive more pine straw per roll than you did with a bale! The rolls are also less work to spread, fewer clumps are in a roll, and just a quick cut of the plastic, a push of the roll and “BAM”! It will layout for you quickly.

Use for Every Type of Terrain

Pine straw rolls can be used as ground cover and in your flower beds to provide help with erosion control while creating a beautiful landscape. Each roll is net wrapped to prevent the loss of material during transportation.

How It Works

1

Measure

First measure the square footage you need. Length of the bed times width of the bed = total square feet. (L x W = total sq.ft.)

2

Coverage

One roll of pine straw covers 125 square feet with a recommended 2 inch bed depth.

Rolls Required = total sq.ft. divided by 125

If you previously ordered bales:
Rolls Required = number of bales x 0.4

3

Cost

The cost of one pine straw roll is $30.00 (+tax)

1 roll = 125 square feet (2.5 bales)

1 bale = 50 square feet.

Ohio Pine Straw Sales

Our History

Ohio Pine Straw Sales LLC has become the major supplier of pine straw for northern Ohio operating in Concord Township, Ohio since 1997.

Use of pine straw as a ground cover mulch in landscaping around trees and in flowerbeds has been rising popularity throughout the South for the last 25 years because pine straw is clean, attractive, and provides exceptional value for most landscaping situations. In fact, pine straw is one of the most widely used mulches for all size projects ranging from residential flower beds to industrial complexes and highway landscapes.

New Branding

In 1997, Southern Pine Straw Mulch Company, LLC seized the opportunity to become the major supplier of pine straw for Ohio locating our distribution point in Concord Township, Ohio.

In 2020, to better reflect our local Ohio Buckeye state market we have changed our name to Ohio Pine Straw Sales LLC. Our goal is to continue to provide the best quality pine straw rolls at value pricing throughout northeast Ohio.

Traditional Mulch Drawbacks

Ohio is known as the Buckeye state, not the land of pine straw. Instead, we do have lots of deciduous trees, and for years gardeners have used the ground bark from those trees as mulch. Bark mulch, however, is susceptible to molds and fungus, especially shotgun or artillery fungus (sphaerobolus stellatus), often has a repugnant barnyard odor and attracts insects like millipedes that thrive on decomposing matter. It also seems to break down so quickly that by the end of the season you are left with dirt and sticks and the prospect of doing it all over again next year… messy, smelly and definitely not economical!

Pine Straw Advantages

Pine Straw rolls are extremely clean of debris, fewer branches, pine cones, and dirt. This means you receive more pine straw per roll than you did with a bale! Also, pine straw rolls are faster and easier to spread than bales.

In 1997 we seized the opportunity to become the major supplier of pine straw for Ohio locating our distribution point in Concord Township, Ohio. Since then we have been pleased to be bringing pine straw to the Buckeye Ohio state and surrounding northeast.

Testimonials

I was really amazed. For the past 15 years, I had carpenter ants. I don’t know why, but after using pine straw, I noticed a big drop off in the ants.
